Academy is one of the partners of European fund «ERASMUS», project «MILETUS», that implies the development of virtual educational teachers’ and students’ mobility.
This time the conference that summarized the second stage of the project took place in Milan in Politecnico di Milano, that is also one of the partners.
The Academy was represented by the Head of Sociology department I.S. Nechitailo and the dean of the faculty of postgraduate education and further training O.L.Voyno-Danchysyna and also the head of the International Department Pozhidaev D.

This year, the academy continues participating in the international educational project CAT for Grad aiming to assist universities to train prospective translators with an adequate level of the technological competence.
Sixth-year students of the faculty of translation and interpreting have passed an on-line European framework exam on the SDL Trados 2015 professional computer tool and received certificates of a substantial significance for beginning translators.
The next group has already started to master a new SDL Trados 2017 software version; a group for learning the MemoQ program is being formed.

The People's Ukrainian Academy was ranked in the top of 100 Ukrainian universities by the International rating of Webometrics (January 2018)
The international rating «Webometrics» takes into account the informative Internet activity of the university, the number of pages indexed by search engines of the website of the university, external links to the site, citation of resources as well as the number of files uploaded to the site. It is published twice a year.

During this visit, Ivan Kompan got acquainted with the history, traditions, and plans of the development of the educational complex. At a meeting with vice-rectors, deans and heads of the departments modern tendencies of training of specializes in economics and sociology were discussed, as well as possibilities of the realization of joint projects.

A Professor of Swiss and British B.H.V.S. Business school Magdy Attalla has visited us again. This school is widely-known for training professionals in tourism and hotel management. As it was last year, our guest gave a very interesting interactive class in PUA School, first, and then to students of different departments. This time he spoke about how important it is to distinguish generations of customers (generation X, Y, Z) in marketing and address each generation in a different way. Valuable professional information, original ideas, humour and live interaction – this is what we remember Professor Attalla’s classes for. As he said, he also enjoyed communication with our students, who he found bright and responsive.

In October (1.10 – 7.10) an interesting project for educational workers took place in the city of Huittinen (Finland). The initiator of the project was the Institute for International Academic and Scientific Cooperation. This non-governmental and non-profit organization is designed to promote the development of education, science and civil society in Ukraine. The purpose of the program was to get familiarized with the organization of the learning process in educational institutions of Finland and take and an intensive course of English.
The program was attended by vice-rectors, professors, and school principals from different parts of Ukraine. Natalia Molodcha, an associate professor of the Foreign Languages Chair, also took part in this project and successfully passed scientific and pedagogical internship.

Organizers of the international ranking U-Multirank have updated results of analysis of data related to activities of 1500 universities from around the world. This year only 6 Kharkiv universities were included in the ranking and KUH “PUA” is one of them.

This year on the day of its birthday People’s Ukrainian Academy had a very special ceremony:
the memorandum of cooperation with the International Educational Group “Pearson Dinternal” was signed as a stately occasion. According to M. Malygina, Head of “Pearson education” office in Ukraine, the purpose of our cooperation is to improve and develop the system of English language learning/teaching in the whole educational institution.
