СStudents Union of PUA is an integral part of the Academy self-government and is created with the aim of developing the students’ level of activity, creativity, sense of responsibility and teamwork.

Students Union tasks are:

  • organization of student government;
  • development of social activity of students;
  • involvement in research work;
  • development of responsibility of students for their performance;
  • organization of work and recreation of students;
  • promoting creativity of students.

The history of the Students Union of PUA. The Students Union of Kharkiv Humanitarian University "People's Ukrainian Academy" was established in April 1996. Students Union of PUA is the first student social organization among private universities and one of the first among universities in Kharkiv. The Students Union realized a large number of projects and promotional events, many of which have become the identity mark of the Academy:

  • “St. George Ribbon”
  • “Stand up against poverty!”
  • “Throw away your cigarette!”
  • “Adults to children”..

The PUA Students Union was recognized at all levels:

  • In 2005 the Students Union of Kharkiv Humanitarian University "People's Ukrainian Academy" became an award winner of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the contribution of youth in the development of the state.

Premiya

  • In 2009, the Students Union of KHU “PUA” won the I city competition of student councils among universities of non-state ownership.

In November 2012, the Student Committee of the Academy won the city competition of student councils.

The Student Union includes Student Scientific Society (SSS), educational, sports, cultural, institutional sectors, student labor groups and representatives of all student clubs. Every year, the clubs fair is held by the Students Union. The purpose of the fair is to attract new participants to work in clubs of interests.
