Symbols of the Academy
The banner – is the official symbol of PUA certified on July 28, 1997 (state patent No. 1910) that testifies to the Academy the independence and self-sufficiency, high level of its organizational and corporate culture. The banner of PUA is a blue cashmere cloth of 150 x 180 cm in size edged by a white fringe and decorated with two white silk brushes. In the centre of the banner the emblem of PUA embroidered with white silk (75cm in diameter ) The Banner is kept at the Academy history museum and taken out once a year – on May 29 the Academy Birthday.
The standard-bearer is approved by Academy Senate as one of the best students. The standard-bearer assistants are annually chosen by faculties and the SELS teachers' meeting from the best school and university students. During solemn all school assembleys and meetings of PUA, standards of faculties and school, flags of knowledge and sports club, the student union and the school organization "Source" are taken out.
The emblem (coat of arms) symbolizes aspiration for knowledge, creative activity, purity of thoughts and actions, uniqueness and high striving for the new, worthy, getting support of people and due recognition.
On the emblem against the blue background an opened book and the abbreviation of the Academy leaning on a laurel branch is represented. And all this is in a ring of a continuity of training, unity and succession of generations.
The anthem is one of the most important spiritual symbols of the People's Ukrainian Academy, written in 1997 by prof. Artyom Artyomovich Yantsevich and associate professor Lilia Vladimirovna Sobko . In 2001 in honor of the 10th anniversary of PUA near the main building of the Academy the monument "Fire of knowledge" (the sculptor, a great friend of PUA K. Mamedov). was opened. The monument has become a peculiar symbol, the Academy visiting card.
RULES of corporate culture of People's Ukrainian Academy PUA's motto is Education. High Moral Standards. Culture. The main objective of PUA is realization of its motto. The community of interests determines the most important task of PUA that can only be solved by joint effort of all participants in the teaching and upbringing process. All of us make a team of like-minded people who believe in the noble mission of People's Ukrainian Academy and are ready to serve its ideals dedicatedly. The corporate culture presupposes:
It is the custom in the Academy: 1. To observe the norms and rules of behavior obligatory for well-bred people 2. To actively participate in the realization of the main PUA's mission. To stick to the motto: Education. High Moral Standards. Culture. 3. To maintain and keep up the prestige of the Academy. 4. To be responsible for the quality of one's work or study, to improve the results of activity at each workplace. 5. To keep up and develop traditions together with the realization of innovations. 6. To treat each other with respect and attention. 7. To understand that each participant in the teaching and upbringing process is of a unique value for the Academy. 8. To be aware of the fact that teamwork gives as a result much more, than the sum of individual efforts. 9. To be polite and correct (always and with everybody). 10. Not to smoke (or at any rate, in strictly appointed places). 11. To observe the rules of admittance and be polite with persons on duty. 12. To observe the dress-code in conformity with the Academy image
It is not the custom in the Academy 1. To be impolite. 2. To disregard the interests of other participants in the teaching and upbringing process while solving one's own problems. 3. To cause moral and material harm to the Academy. 4. To endanger your own health and the health of people around. 5. To cheat, to use cribs and to break the ethical standards inherent in the educational process. 6. To break the terms of the contract, or one's promises 7. To wear a headgear on the premises 8. To break the dress-code accepted at the Academy 9. To use vulgarisms.
