The Chair is a graduate chair and plays a leading role in the professional training within the framework of an integrated Master’s and Specialist’s programs of economics education. During the 1995 – 2010 period, the Chair was transformed. In October 1995, as the next step in the realization of the Plan of PUA sustainable development as an innovative institution of higher education within the system of continuous education and an experimental ground of Ukraine’s Ministry of Education, the Economy of the Enterprise Chair was separated from the Economic Theory Chair (the main Chair of economics education at the time). The decision was made in response to the demand for economists the national economy of Ukraine needs in the new economic conditions. Radical changes in Ukraine’s national economy, education, international economic relations that occurred in recent years, set a new challenge for the training of economists. Integration of fundamental and professional knowledge and practical skills became vitally important. To comply with the Ministry of Education and Science resolution of April 22, 2010 as to the necessity of merging structural departments in higher institutions, and in accordance with Rector’s order № 93 of 12.05.2010, chairs were reorganized as of 01.09.2010. The primary goal of the Economy of the Enterprise Chair was to provide general economic training. Its present goal is to provide specialized economics training. Three Chairs – those of the Economy of the Enterprise, Management, Accounting and Audit were united into one single unit. Thus, the scale of interdisciplinary interaction within the Chair has broadened. Now it encompasses disciplines which are the most important information tools for a professional economist. The Chair has become more flexible in responding to the current changes in Ukraine’s national economy and the new trends in the world economy. An opportunity emerged to react more promptly while identifying those processes and introducing corresponding changes in the Curriculum.
