In a simple, unremarkable day a surprise has been waiting for us: we knew that the Canadian guest is going to visit our class. Many questioned rushed through our heads, we tried to remember Canadian English. But what a surprise it was for us when Brian started talking in literature English language, his excellent pronunciation fascinated our hearing. The tact and manner of conducting a lesson made all our worries, complexes and linguistic fear go away. We immediately transferred across the ocean: got acquainted with the Canadian education system, with problems and interests of Canadian youth, traditions and manners of Canadian family. It will be amazing if this experience becomes systemic and productive.

The students of the third and fourth year of our department had an ultimate English speaking practice today! Mr. Bryan Hamilton came to the Academy to share a little bit about his country and his personal story which is motivating and fascinating at the same time. It was also a welcome surprise for the students to find out that Bryan's great-grandparents were from Ukraine and this made the connection with the speaker even stronger. It was fun and educating; every single person coming out of the room after the class was smiling!

Traditionally, at the end of the school year the senior students of the faculty "Interpreter - Translator" travel to the hotel and entertainment complex “Carnaval Resert & Spa” to have a "language picnic" outdoors. This year, our graduates of different years helped to overcome the language barrier, they were talking about the peculiarities of their professions in a foreign language. It was a real weekend in the style of "action": sports aerobics and dancing, intellectual games, bowling and golf, and, of course, romantic memories under the stars.

All people at all times thought friendship to be the greatest social and moral value. Students of "IT" faculty are also a part of this brotherhood too. This day they have come with a goodwill visit to sponsored schools No. 119 and No. 73 where they have performed with a concert in four languages (French, English, Russian, Ukrainian). The Special language of this meeting is a language of dance: it was possible to imagine ourselves on the top of Montmartre under accordion sounds – a waltz «Sous le ciel de Paris»; to be transferred to far America under a jive rhythm. The story about the known cabaret Moulin Rouge, of course, with an incendiary cancan became a highlight of the meeting!..

This Friday we had an amazing opportunity of dipping into the country of Japan. What an interesting journey it was. It is always important to learn about other countries and cultures. We are used to analyzing the culture of Europe, and this time Asian culture has changed out routine a bit. It opened up this part of the world from an entire different side. We listened to Japanese poetry, watched an entertaining cartoon about love and learned how to make a crane out of origami paper.

The idea behind the PUA English speaking club is very simple: we want to create an opportunity for the graduates of the Academy who feel the need to practice their English skills to do so in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. The meetings of the club are weekly and take place on Saturdays to accommodate the busy work schedule of most participants.
